It’s not every day we get to document a Destination Wedding in our own backyard of Sedona, AZ!
Tim and Charity started out as friends in high school in New Jersey. Tim moved to Florida after graduation and she stayed in New Jersey. They both married other people and both divorced. It wasn’t until Charity took a vacation in Florida that they reconnected and totally hit it off, never skipping a beat. They did long distance when Charity had moved to Arizona. Tim wanted to see if they would still connect after all this time, so he came to Arizona as well. Of course, they were! They ended moving back to New Jersey together, but still had a special place in their hearts for Arizona.
They decided Sedona was the perfect place for their destination wedding. Their family also traveled to join them in this beautiful, intimate ceremony and reception in the heart of Sedona. They were supposed to get married in August of 2020, but covid had other plans! They postponed their wedding to May of 2021, and while the day was absolutely perfect, Charity’s father had passed away last year. Charity still wanted her dad to walk her down the aisle, so she carried his ashes down the aisle with her, and he was by her side the whole time. It was so touching and my eyes were definitely watering.
They opted for a first touch instead of a first look before the ceremony, and this was such a sweet and private moment for them. The moment helped ease their emotions and anticipation. They tied the knot in Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village, a gorgeous area in Sedona for locals. They wanted some photos of the two of them there, as well as to have a prayer circle around a beautiful fountain. We then made our way to the hiking area near the reception venue for their bridals at sunset. Not only did the Sedona landscapes SHOW OFF their beauty, Charity and Tim were glowing with happiness. I absolutely adored how they whispered to each other during portraits and how Tim would say something to her that would just make her laugh. They have been through so much in their lives, and this day was everything they had hoped for!
After their bridals, we went to Agave of Sedona for their reception. Their family members welcomed them in and the rest of the night was one big party with lots of dancing, laughs, and special moments. Everything went so smoothly and I loved being able to document this day that was so longed for.
