El Chorro Desert Wedding
Adam and Mikayla are two people who make our hearts smile – just seeing them together on their El Chorro desert-inspired wedding was everything! They are so kind and gentle-hearted, and we truly believe them to be soulmates! They are both very active and love working on their home together. They both work in construction and plan on starting their own business down and line! Mikayla also said they “enjoy wine tastings, laying by the pool, and most of all, eating!” They are our kind of people!
Mikayla was referred to us by a friend who is also a professional photographer (thank you, Allison!) and we are so thankful to have these two as clients and friends!
How Adam & Mikayla Met
Adam and Mikayla originally met through Adam’s stepbrother, who also happened to be Mikayla’s best friend. They started their relationship through long-distance, no easy feat! She was in New York City and Adam was in New Orleans. He had a feeling she was the one (pretty quickly) and relocated to NYC to be closer to her! After about a year and a half later, they both moved to Arizona together and quickly fell in love with all Phoenix had to offer them. Mikayla says “It was the best decision we ever made, and plan on beginning and raising our family here.”
El Chorro Wedding Venue
They officially tied the knot at El Chorro in April of 2022! El Chorro is a venue located in the heart of Paradise Valley, Arizona. It was a warm spring wedding that had our desert-lovin’ hearts singing! They love the desert and wanted all the desert vibes. This venue offered extraordinary views of Camelback Mountain and all the cacti backdrops! This luxurious and romantic venue did not disappoint! Adam and Mikayla had their ceremony in the Herb Garden and then their reception in the Bocce Lawn and Classroom Bar.
Adam and Mikayla chose to incorporate cacti, dried florals, and golden hues for their day. Mikayla’s bridesmaids wore bold green one shoulder ruched bodycon dresses paired with a bouquet filled with pampas grass, greenery, and gorgeous mixed colored florals of blush, cream, and terracotta. They were stunning! Adam’s groomsmen wore off-white colored suits, brown shoes, and cacti-patterned ties! We are obsessed!
The Bride’s Details
Can we talk about Mikayla for a sec?! She is a gorgeous. Classic bride! She wore a long-sleeve Pronovia’s dress “Adrienne” that their website describes as a “mermaid-cut gown in soft crepe expertly frames the upper-body with drapery and a cut-away back, before falling into a fluid skirt and train.” Her sparkly Jimmy Choo pointed heels and cathedral length veil covered in pearls were a perfect pair for this elegant dress! Mikayla also switched into a white cocktail dress for the second half of their reception! Check out that bow!!
Their day went so well, thanks to their AMAZING coordinator, Shannon, from Shannon Smith Events! Shannon is a total gem and really knows her stuff when it comes to executing a relaxed, stress-free wedding day! We highly recommend Shannon and her team to any couple who wants to have a high-end wedding day experience!
We loved every moment of Adam + Mikayla’s El Chorro desert-inspired wedding day! From watching Form Floral work their magic with florals, to listening to their personal vows during their ceremony, to their romantic portraits in the desert landscape, to their string-lit intimate reception filled with their closest friends and family, and everything in between! We couldn’t be more blessed to have been able to document their amazing day through photo and video!
